The reasons to restrict it are unwanted prompts, radio scanning where it is unwelcome, and the breadth of what it can touch on a shared or multi-user device. The Knox Service Plugin Bluetooth and Wi-Fi scanning restrictions noted above are the nearest documented controls, with the same caveat that Samsung frames them around location accuracy and does not tie them to this setting. Because it holds cross-user and package-query permissions, a fleet with a tight privacy posture may prefer to block it outright, but test the result before rolling it out.\n\nVersion note: the builds observed here run from 11.1.14.9 to 11.1.24.1 with target SDKs from 29 to 36, a wide SDK span for a narrow version range, so it has been carried across several Android releases.
