"One Handed Mode", a code-free Runtime Resource Overlay (RRO) from the Android Open Source Project that supported Android's built-in one-handed mode. Despite the label it is not the one-handed mode feature itself and has no launcher icon. It targets the core "android" framework package in the com.android.internal.one_handed_mode overlay category and sets a single value, navigation_bar_gesture_larger_height (80dp, described in the source as the height of the bottom navigation gesture area), at a higher priority than the gestural navigation-bar overlay; a comment in its manifest says the priority must be higher to override that overlay. AOSP added it in 2020; a later change, made to fix gesture conflicts when triggering one-handed mode, switched it from replacing the standard navigation gesture height to supplying this separate, larger height for the one-handed gesture handler. Version note: this overlay shipped in frameworks/base for Android 12 (API 31 and 32). In November 2021 AOSP removed "the whole One-handed mode overlay mechanism", and the overlay is absent from the Android 13 source, so on stock AOSP it is an Android 12-era package. Our sample nevertheless still records it on Android 13 and 14 builds, mostly Samsung-signed, so some OEMs continue to carry it; what, if anything, it does on those later builds could not be sourced. It is a different package from com.sec.android.easyonehand, a Samsung package that has its own note on this site. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use, no management role is identified in the sources cited here. Its only sourced role is sizing the gesture area for one-handed mode, so disabling it is not expected to offer any benefit and could plausibly affect that gesture on Android 12 builds; leave it in place, and test on the device first if a change is needed.

• Signed by the device maker's own signing key (Samsung), so it is an OEM preinstall, but 3 different certificates appear across the fleet, so OEMs ship their own builds of it. Inferred from the certificate appearing only on Samsung devices (117 packages, 2137 observations).
• Never reported as user-facing, so it runs as a background or system component rather than an app the user opens.
