Reported on devices as "AI wallpaper", with localised equivalents in other locales, this is a Google component with no launcher icon in our sample. Where signer data is recorded it is signed by a key this site classifies as Google, on both Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices. Its label matches the Pixel feature Google documents as AI wallpaper, reached from Wallpaper and style, which creates wallpapers from a prompt template using generative AI and saves them for reuse. Google's page does not name the package, so the tie between this package and that feature is inferred from the label. It requests permissions to set the wallpaper, to read the device's accounts (including the privileged variant) and internet access. This site aggregates permissions across observations rather than per build, so which builds declare them cannot be established. Version note: Google states that AI wallpapers apply only to Pixel 8 and later devices and may not be available for certain account types, such as Family Link accounts. In our sample this package is recorded on devices running Android 14 to 17, including Galaxy S, Z and Tab S models as well as Pixel 8 and later; what it provides on Samsung devices could not be sourced. 37 of 67 observations record it as an updated system app. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use, no enrolment or management role is identified in the sources cited here. If it is the component behind the AI wallpaper feature, disabling it would be expected to remove the option to generate wallpapers; its effect on wallpapers already set could not be established. Organisations that restrict generative AI features may want to evaluate it, after testing on one device.
