Guidance

Disable with caution verified 22 Aug 2026

Recorded on devices as "SamsungOne", this package sits in Monotype's com.monotype.android.font namespace, the same FlipFont font-provider family as com.monotype.android.font.foundation documented separately on this site. It carries the SamsungOne typeface rather than being an app the user opens: it has no launcher entry in our sample, declares at most POST_NOTIFICATIONS, and is recorded at roughly 0.7 MB to 1.3 MB, the shape of a font payload. SamsungOne is Samsung's own corporate typeface. Samsung Design describes it as "a family of scripts covering 26 writing systems, more than 400 languages, and over 25,000 glyphs", intended to give a consistent look from phone to TV, and Samsung's developer design system presents it as the typeface that "provides a consistent voice to our wide range of products". On a Galaxy phone the font in use is chosen under Settings, Display, Font size and style, Font style, which is where a typeface package of this kind is offered. That the package supplies the entry of that name is inferred from its namespace and label; Samsung and Monotype do not publish package-level documentation for it. Version note: this site's sample records version names from 1.1.02.0 to 3.6.00.0 with target SDK 29 to 36, so the package has tracked several Android releases rather than belonging to one. No change in its role across releases could be sourced. Provenance: it is recorded only on Samsung devices and signed with Samsung certificates, one of which is marked as also signing the framework, so despite the Monotype namespace it ships as part of Samsung firmware rather than as a third-party install. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use no management role was found: it takes no part in enrolment or policy, and font choice is cosmetic. On a single-purpose device it is therefore a candidate for disabling. The caveat is that a font package can be the one currently selected, or the build default, and neither is published for this package, so disabling it may change how UI text renders. Test on one device before applying it to a fleet.

Package intelligence

Observed signing, permission, version and size signals from contributing devices - descriptive of that sample, not a verdict. These come from the v2 Package Search sync, which not every device has contributed to yet, so for some packages this detail is partial or not present at all.

Manage on devices

ADB commands for this package (the inverse of each is included so you can undo). Run from an authorised shell or wire the equivalent into your DPC. Verify on a test device first - this database doesn’t yet classify which packages are safe to change. --user 0 targets the current user; drop it (and use a privileged shell) to act device-wide.

Disable for the current user
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.monotype.android.font.samsungone
Remove for the current user - a per-user uninstall; the APK stays on /system, so Restore re-adds it (-k keeps app data)
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.monotype.android.font.samsungone
Re-enable
adb shell pm enable com.monotype.android.font.samsungone
Restore (re-install for the current user)
adb shell pm install-existing com.monotype.android.font.samsungone

Each record is a device profile (make + model + Android version). Each unique handset that syncs against a matching profile will increase the observations of a package, thereby increasing confidence that a package is expected to be on a device.
