QDCM-FF, a small Qualcomm-origin component found on Snapdragon devices. QDCM stands for Qualcomm Display Colour Manager, the display colour and post-processing control path in Qualcomm's display stack: the display HAL source in AOSP carries a QDCM mode manager class, QDCM enable and active-feature calls, and a diagnostic client library, and drives display features through a service socket. Samsung's Common Criteria mode application list for the Galaxy S9+ shows "QDCM-FF" against this exact package name and version 1.0, which confirms it as a documented preinstalled component rather than an unexpected addition. The package itself is tiny, between roughly 17 KB and 21 KB in the builds recorded here, reports version 1.0 throughout, and declares no permissions. On that basis, and on the shared "qdcm" naming, it reads as a hook into the vendor display path rather than an app a user opens, but that is inference from the name and the recorded manifest: we did not source which partition it ships from or what its code does. It is not an OEM app despite how it looks in an inventory. Across the devices recorded here it is signed by nine different platform keys belonging to Samsung, Zebra Technologies, Nothing, Fairphone, Xiaomi, Crosscall, HMD Global and others, each of which also signs that maker's framework. In this sample, then, several unrelated makers building on Qualcomm silicon each ship the same Qualcomm-named component signed with their own platform key. That includes rugged and fixed-purpose brands common in enterprise fleets, such as Zebra, Datalogic, Crosscall and Elo Touch Solutions. The sample cannot tell you whether every Snapdragon device does the same, or whether the implementations behind the shared package name are identical. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use we found no enrolment, policy or user role for it, and nothing an administrator configures that refers to it. Disabling it offers no benefit we could identify, and if the display-path reading above is right it could affect display colour behaviour on that hardware, so it is best left alone. We could not source what a device does when it is missing, and any such behaviour would in any case be specific to each OEM's display implementation. Version note: the package version stays at 1.0 across everything recorded here, spanning API 29 to 36, so its role appears stable rather than tied to a particular Android release. What sits behind it does change: the display HAL referenced below is a Qualcomm chipset-era snapshot in AOSP, and current Snapdragon display stacks have moved on, so treat the source link as evidence of what QDCM is rather than of what any specific device ships today.

Package intelligence

Observed signing, permission, version and size signals from contributing devices - descriptive of that sample, not a verdict. These come from the v2 Package Search sync, which not every device has contributed to yet, so for some packages this detail is partial or not present at all.

Manage on devices

ADB commands for this package (the inverse of each is included so you can undo). Run from an authorised shell or wire the equivalent into your DPC. Verify on a test device first - this database doesn’t yet classify which packages are safe to change. --user 0 targets the current user; drop it (and use a privileged shell) to act device-wide.

Disable for the current user
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.qti.snapdragon.qdcm_ff
Remove for the current user - a per-user uninstall; the APK stays on /system, so Restore re-adds it (-k keeps app data)
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.qti.snapdragon.qdcm_ff
Re-enable
adb shell pm enable com.qti.snapdragon.qdcm_ff
Restore (re-install for the current user)
adb shell pm install-existing com.qti.snapdragon.qdcm_ff

Each record is a device profile (make + model + Android version). Each unique handset that syncs against a matching profile will increase the observations of a package, thereby increasing confidence that a package is expected to be on a device.
