Crocro and friends
Guidance
Recorded on devices as "Crocro and friends", this is a preloaded Samsung sticker content pack tied to Samsung's avatar sticker features. Samsung has documented AR Emoji Stickers as part of the AR Zone app, where a set of sticker packs ships on the device and further packs can be downloaded from a Download Stickers section. This package sits in Samsung's camera sticker namespace, and the only permission it requests is com.samsung.android.provider.stickerprovider.permission.FACE_AR, Samsung's private permission for its face AR sticker provider, which fits a character pack that publishes stickers into that provider rather than an app in its own right. Samsung does not publish package-level documentation for individual sticker packs, so the link between this package and the sticker feature is inferred from its namespace, label and permission rather than sourced directly. In our sample it is Samsung-signed, preinstalled, has no launcher entry, and is large for what it appears to do, at roughly 30 to 35 MB. Version note: the feature around it was renamed. Samsung's current documentation describes Galaxy Avatar, and calls its stickers Avatar Stickers, on devices running One UI 7, which is Samsung's Android 15 release, while its older articles describe AR Emoji Stickers inside AR Zone. Whether this package's role changed with that rename could not be sourced. Our sample records the package on devices from Android 10 (API 29) through to current releases, with package versions spanning 4.1.00 to 9.0.00, so it has been present across that whole period. Which sticker characters a particular build contains could not be sourced either. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use it has no management role: it takes no part in enrolment or policy and exposes nothing an administrator configures. It is optional entertainment content and no Samsung or Android documentation records anything depending on it, so on a locked-down or single-purpose device it is a reasonable candidate for disabling. The expected effect is that those sticker characters stop being offered, but that is inferred rather than documented, and the precise consequences of disabling it were not established, so test on a single device first.
Package intelligence
Observed signing, permission, version and size signals from contributing devices - descriptive of that sample, not a verdict. These come from the v2 Package Search sync, which not every device has contributed to yet, so for some packages this detail is partial or not present at all.
- Signed by the device maker's own signing key (Samsung), so it is an OEM preinstall, and that single certificate is consistent across all 18 device profiles. It also signs the Android framework, so it is a platform-level key on its device(s). Inferred from the certificate appearing only on Samsung devices (508 packages, 10196 observations).
- Its largest observed manifest declares 1 permissions: 1 vendor or uncatalogued.
- Never reported as user-facing, so it runs as a background or system component rather than an app the user opens.
Declared permissions (1)
Largest permission set observed for this package. Text is Android's own published description where one exists; platform permissions Android does not document show their granted protection level (in grey) instead; vendor or unknown constants show the name only.

Manage on devices
ADB commands for this package (the inverse of each is included so you can undo). Run from an authorised shell or wire the equivalent into your DPC. Verify on a test device first - this database doesn’t yet classify which packages are safe to change. --user 0 targets the current user; drop it (and use a privileged shell) to act device-wide.

Each record is a device profile (make + model + Android version). Each unique handset that syncs against a matching profile will increase the observations of a package, thereby increasing confidence that a package is expected to be on a device.
