Samsung's own published Common Criteria application lists for Galaxy devices name this package "Live focus", the Galaxy feature that photographs a subject against a blurred background and lets the amount of blur be changed after the shot was taken. It is signed by Samsung OEM keys that also sign the Android framework, so it is a platform preinstall rather than anything installed from a store, and it has no launcher entry of its own. Version note: the name has moved with the feature's branding. Samsung's application lists for Android 10 and Android 11 Galaxy devices name this package "Live focus", and one observation recorded on this site still carries that label. In the great majority of observations here it is instead labelled "Portrait" in English, alongside the expected localised equivalents in other languages, among them "Portret", "Porträt", "Retrato", "Ritratto" and "Tryb portretowy". The site records labels as an aggregate rather than against particular builds, so this shows the two names coexisting in the sample rather than a datable switch. Samsung documents the change at feature level, stating that Live Focus was folded into Portrait mode on phones running One UI 4 and later. The package's own version number also steps up roughly once per Android release, from 5.x on the Android 10 build in Samsung's lists to 11.x among the builds recorded here, which suggests it is rebuilt with each platform release rather than updated independently. A second observation is visible in the recorded manifests but is not documented by Samsung. The permission set recorded here includes permissions to bind Samsung's on-device and cloud AI components, among them an AI Core service, a portrait service, an image editor service and a C2PA content-credentials service, and the largest build recorded is far bigger than the smallest. Permissions and sizes are recorded as an aggregate across observations rather than per build, so they cannot be tied to a particular release, and we could not source any Samsung documentation describing such a change. Treat this as an observation about what the recorded manifests declare, not as established behaviour. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk fleets it has no enrolment or management role and nothing a user interacts with directly. On a single-app kiosk that never takes photographs there is nothing here to configure. Where photography is part of the workflow, the prudent assumption is that disabling it affects Portrait and Live Focus capture and the after-the-fact blur editing, though we could not source what actually breaks, so verify the camera flow on one device before applying it fleet wide.
