Labelled "Wallpaper and style" on the device and signed by the Samsung OEM keys that also sign the Android framework. It is the Galaxy personalisation surface that Samsung documents as reached by touching and holding the home screen and tapping Wallpaper and style, from where Change wallpapers offers featured wallpapers, the gallery, colours and wallpaper services for the home screen and the lock screen. The package name does not resemble the label a user sees, which is why it is easy to miss in an app inventory: on device it reads only as "Wallpaper and style". Its recorded permissions fit that job: setting the wallpaper and wallpaper hints, reading media, and reaching Samsung's own lock screen, clock and wallpaper providers. Version note: this is one to watch, because the surface has grown. In our sample the package appears only on Samsung devices and only from API level 31 upwards, while older Galaxy builds in the same sample do not carry it, which is consistent with Samsung consolidating wallpaper and style settings into this app on a newer One UI generation. Its recorded permissions also include bindings to Samsung's on-device AI services, among them a wallpaper-specific one, so generative wallpaper features are wired into it somewhere in the range of builds observed. The provenance data does not break permissions down by release, and we could not source the specific One UI or Android release at which either change happened, so treat both boundaries as unconfirmed and expect the menu's contents to differ across a mixed fleet. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use it has no enrolment or management role, and it is user-facing rather than a background service. If the aim is to stop users changing the wallpaper, policy is the supported route: the Android Management API exposes setWallpaperDisabled, described as whether changing the wallpaper is disabled, which applies regardless of which app would have made the change. On a dedicated or kiosk device the entry is normally unreachable in any case. Disabling the package removes the Wallpaper and style entry, and on builds where its AI wallpaper integration is present it is unclear what else expects it to be there, so test on one device before rolling it out.
