A Samsung system component whose English label is "Call Services", with localised equivalents such as "Anrufdienste", "Servizi di chiamata" and "Services d'appel". It is signed by a Samsung OEM key that also signs the framework package, has no launcher entry, and is not user-facing in any observation on this site. Despite the neutral label, the package name and its declared permissions both point at Samsung's Call assist feature set rather than at basic telephony. The permissions this site records against it are unusually revealing for an undocumented package, bearing in mind that the site records the permissions a package requests rather than which package declares them. The list includes CALL_AUDIO_INTERCEPTION, CAPTURE_AUDIO_OUTPUT, RECORD_AUDIO, MODIFY_AUDIO_ROUTING, MODIFY_PHONE_STATE, READ_CALL_LOG and WRITE_CALL_LOG, along with four permissions in its own namespace named READ_CALL_RECORDING_PROVIDER, WRITE_CALL_RECORDING_PROVIDER, TEXT_CALL and VOIP_TRANSLATOR. It also includes com.samsung.android.permission.DETECT_SCAM_CALL, read and write access to a screen-call history provider, and a long list of binds into Samsung's on-device AI services covering speech recognition, translation, summarisation and text to speech. Samsung documents the matching user features without naming any package. Samsung's US support guidance on call recording says that "Participants on the call will receive an audio notification indicating that the call is being recorded", and notes that transcripts and summaries are unavailable on some Galaxy A series models. Samsung lists Live translate as working with third-party calling apps including WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram and Google Meet, on "the Tab S9 and later models (with One UI 6.1.1 or later)", excluding Wi-Fi only models. For Call screening Samsung says "Galaxy AI will vet the call and provide a live transcription". Reading this package as the component behind those features is our inference from its name and permissions, not a Samsung statement. Version note: this is a moving target and the feature set is tied to specific releases. Samsung's US support pages state that "Galaxy phones running Android 15 with One UI 7 or higher now offer an exciting new Call recording feature", and that "Call screening is only available on Galaxy phones running Android 16 with One UI 8.5 or higher", while also noting that "Certain regions and languages may not be supported". This site first recorded the package in June 2025 and sees it only at API 34 to 37 (Android 14 to 17), at versions 15.1.00.73 to 18.0.00.106. This site aggregates permissions across observations rather than per build, so which build of this package gained which capability cannot be established from it and could not be sourced elsewhere. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use this deserves a deliberate decision rather than a default. It is the package most likely to be performing call recording, transcription and translation on a managed handset, which engages recording consent law, data protection duties and any contractual restriction on processing call content, and Live translate reaches into third-party messaging apps as well as the dialler. It has no enrolment or policy role. Disabling it would be expected to remove the Call assist features rather than the ability to make calls, since the dialler and in-call user interface are separate packages, but Samsung does not document the dependency and we could not source whether the Samsung Phone app degrades without it. Where the organisation has decided these features must be off, check first whether Knox or your EMM offers a supported setting for call recording, and test disabling on one device before applying it widely.

It also signs the Android framework, so it is a platform-level key on its device(s). Inferred from the certificate appearing only on Samsung devices (508 packages, 10196 observations).
• Its largest observed manifest declares 131 permissions: 8 runtime (user-granted), 17 signature or system-level, 13 install-time and 93 vendor or uncatalogued.
• APK size ranges from 9.5 MB to 36.8 MB across the reporting device profiles, so the build differs substantially between them.
• Reported as an updated system app on 2 of 18 profiles - a newer build is installed over the one in the system image there.
