Samsung Blockchain Keystore
Guidance
Labelled "Samsung Blockchain Keystore", this is Samsung's on-device store for cryptocurrency private keys. Samsung Electronics publishes a Galaxy Store listing for "Samsung Blockchain Keystore" at this package name, describing it as "a secure and convenient place to manage your private key used for cryptocurrency transactions" that creates or imports a private key, manages a six-digit PIN and fingerprint, and signs transactions and payments for third-party partner services. Samsung's developer documentation states that the Keystore "is isolated within the Samsung Knox TrustZone and protected by defense-grade Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) software", that the private key is never saved to a Samsung or external cloud, and that it is "a preloaded feature on selected Galaxy devices". On this site it is recorded only on Samsung profiles, across OS API levels 31 to 37, signed by a Samsung OEM key that also signs the Android framework, a platform-level key. Other apps reach it through Samsung's Blockchain Keystore SDK, which the developer documentation describes as returning blockchain addresses, requesting a signature on a transaction that the user confirms with a PIN or fingerprint, and reporting whether a wallet has been set up. Samsung's FAQ states that the Keystore cannot be downloaded from Galaxy Store on a device that is not supported, and that the Recovery Phrase "is the only way a user can recover the wallet when a device is lost or stolen". This site records the package requesting fingerprint, internet and system window permissions among others. This site aggregates permissions across observations rather than per build, so which builds declare each of them cannot be established. Version note: no change in this package's role tied to a specific Android release was found in the sources cited here. Samsung's developer page lists the Keystore SDK at v1.6.0 dated 12 December 2023. This site's roll-up reports version names from 1.3.16.5 to 1.3.19.2, and the Galaxy Store listing read for this note shows version 1.3.19.2, last modified on 1 September 2026. Which Galaxy models and regions carry it is not listed in the sources cited here beyond "selected Galaxy devices". For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use no management role is identified in the sources cited here, and an organisation that does not use cryptocurrency wallets on its devices has no documented use for it. The caution is for devices where a user may already have created a wallet: Samsung documents the key as held on the device and not in any cloud, with the Recovery Phrase as the only route to recovery. What disabling the package does to a stored key is not documented in the sources cited here, so confirm that no wallet is in use, or that its Recovery Phrase has been kept, before disabling it.
Package intelligence
Observed signing, permission, version and size signals from contributing devices - descriptive of that sample, not a verdict. These come from the v2 Package Search sync, which not every device has contributed to yet, so for some packages this detail is partial or not present at all.
- Signed by the device maker's own signing key (Samsung), so it is an OEM preinstall, and that single certificate is consistent across all 13 device profiles. It also signs the Android framework, so it is a platform-level key on its device(s). Inferred from the certificate appearing only on Samsung devices (580 packages, 11729 observations).
- Its largest observed manifest declares 24 permissions: 3 runtime (user-granted), 6 signature or system-level, 7 install-time and 8 vendor or uncatalogued.
- Reported as an updated system app in 6 of 24 observations - a newer build was installed over the one in the system image. Multiple observations can come from the same device profile.

Manage on devices
ADB commands for this package (the inverse of each is included so you can undo). Run from an authorised shell or wire the equivalent into your DPC. Verify on a test device first - this database doesn’t yet classify which packages are safe to change. --user 0 targets the current user; drop it (and use a privileged shell) to act device-wide.
