"KnoxSandbox", a small Samsung system component with no published description. It is OEM platform-signed, has no launcher icon and is never user-facing in our sample. At roughly 1.1 MB it is far smaller than the two Knox components it ships alongside, and it declares only internet and network state access plus its own dynamic receiver permission. That permission set is too thin to infer a function from, and Samsung documents no package by this name, so no functional claim is made here and no safe_to_disable rating is given. Two observations are worth recording because they are the useful part. It arrived in this database on the same date as com.samsung.android.knox.knnr and com.samsung.android.knox.kfbp, has always been seen on the same devices, and shares their version line, reaching 1.3.01 in step with them. That is circumstantial evidence of one family rather than proof, and it is the reason the three are documented together. Separately, the word "sandbox" is used for several different things in Samsung's published material, including the isolation of third-party apps under Separated Apps, so the name should not be read as identifying any particular Knox feature. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk deployments it has no role in enrolment or policy and shows the user nothing. There is no functional gain from removing it and no sourced basis for judging the cost of doing so, so the sensible position is to leave it in place and treat it as undocumented vendor platform code. Version note: first recorded in June 2025 and seen only on devices reporting API 35, 36 and 37, that is Android 15 and later. Builds run from version 1.0.09 to 1.3.01 with target SDKs of 35 to 37. Whether it exists on earlier One UI releases could not be sourced.

It also signs the Android framework, so it is a platform-level key on its device(s). Inferred from the certificate appearing only on Samsung devices (508 packages, 10196 observations).
• Its largest observed manifest declares 3 permissions: 2 install-time and 1 vendor or uncatalogued.
• Never reported as user-facing, so it runs as a background or system component rather than an app the user opens.
