A Samsung on-device component for SmartThings, Samsung's smart-home platform. It is recorded on this site under more than one label, including "SmartThings Companion" and "SmartThings Framework", and in our sample it is signed with Samsung's platform key and is not user-facing on any device it was seen on, so it is background plumbing rather than an app someone opens. The user-facing SmartThings app is a separate package. Samsung documents SmartThings as a product: an app for connecting, controlling and automating smart devices and appliances, including devices that support the Matter standard, with everything registered to a single Samsung account.
