"Galaxy Themes", the storefront a user opens to restyle a Galaxy device. Samsung's own support page pitches it as styling your screens, from video wallpapers to icons. It is the user-facing half of the pair: the background component behind it, com.samsung.android.themecenter, is documented separately on this site. In our sample it is signed by a single consistent Samsung OEM key, and that key is not the one that signs the Android framework. Version note, and it is the same rebrand recorded for the service package. Samsung's Common Criteria application lists show this package labelled "Samsung Themes" at version 4.2.37.90111 on Android 9 firmware (Galaxy S9 and S10+), and "Galaxy Themes" at version 5.2.00.x on Android 11 firmware (Galaxy S20 FE 5G and Note10+). The package name did not change. Whether anything moved besides the name could not be sourced, so it is flagged rather than smoothed over. On this site it is observed from API 28 through API 37, at versions 5.2.04.10 to 6.0.13.2. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk work, treat it as an app-installation channel rather than a decoration. The permissions recorded here include android.permission.INSTALL_PACKAGES and android.permission.DELETE_PACKAGES, which fits how Samsung says themes are delivered: its Knox Configure knowledge base notes that each wallpaper inside Galaxy Themes has its own package name, so on a device with an app allowlist you have to allow the package name of every theme you want installed, not just the store. That cuts both ways. A fleet carrying corporate branding as a theme needs those individual packages allowed; a locked-down fleet usually has no reason to leave the store reachable at all. No Galaxy Themes policy appears in Knox Service Plugin's device restrictions, so the practical control is your EMM's own hide or blocklist rather than a Samsung policy switch. Samsung does not document what disabling the store does to theme content already applied to a device, so treat outright disabling with care and test on one device first.

• Signed by the device maker's own signing key (Samsung), so it is an OEM preinstall, and that single certificate is consistent across all 22 device profiles. This attribution is tentative - the certificate has only been seen on Samsung so far (2 packages, 63 observations).
• Its largest observed manifest declares 107 permissions: 3 runtime (user-granted), 13 signature or system-level, 15 install-time and 76 vendor or uncatalogued.
• APK size ranges from 16.7 MB to 29.1 MB across the reporting device profiles, so the build differs substantially between them.
• Reported as an updated system app on 15 of 22 profiles - a newer build is installed over the one in the system image there.
