Samsung describes it as a service that searches for information using images from the camera or gallery, covering similar images, products, landmarks, plants and animals, and extracting text from an image to translate or search on. Samsung documents reaching it from inside other apps: from the Camera app by tapping MORE and then the Bixby Vision icon, from the Gallery on a chosen image, and from Samsung Internet by touching and holding an image, with an optional Home screen shortcut that can be added during setup. Samsung also notes it needs a data connection and that the available lenses vary by country and device. In our sample it is signed with Samsung's platform key, and the site's own observations record it as user-facing on only one of the devices it was seen on, which is consistent with those in-app entry points rather than a launcher entry of its own. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use this is a consumer feature with no enrolment or management role, so it is a candidate for tidying away on a dedicated or single-purpose device. Samsung documents the feature but not this package, and does not describe what disabling the package does, so the likely effect, that the documented entry points into Bixby Vision from the Camera, Gallery and Samsung Internet stop working, is an inference from its label rather than a documented outcome; treat it as caution and test on a single device first. It is also worth checking whether anyone relies on its live-translation or text-extraction lenses. Samsung documents QR scanning as a separate quick-panel function and states that Bixby Vision does not provide QR recognition, so QR scanning should be unaffected. Version note: Samsung's current support pages still document Bixby Vision as a live feature, and the only version detail Samsung gives is that the quick-panel QR scanner differs by One UI version. There are user reports of Bixby Vision being folded into an "AI Vision" feature on newer One UI builds, with the separate icon removed, but this could not be confirmed against Samsung documentation and should be treated as unverified.
