A Samsung-named Wi-Fi resources package on Galaxy devices, and a sibling of com.samsung.android.wifi.resources documented separately on this site. It is a resources APK rather than an app: packages of this shape carry configuration values and overlayable defaults that a system service reads at runtime, kept separate from the service code so device makers can tune behaviour with Runtime Resource Overlays. It has no launcher icon, is not user-facing in our sample, carries a version name of 1.0 and declares no permissions. On this site it is Samsung-signed by a single consistent key, with a target SDK range of 31 to 37. The name points at two Wi-Fi services the platform runs. AOSP describes the Wi-Fi P2P Service as the component that "Manages the Wi-Fi Direct mode" and the Wi-Fi Aware Service as the one that "Manages the Wi-Fi Aware mode"; these are the peer-to-peer modes behind features such as device-to-device sharing and discovery, rather than anything to do with joining a normal Wi-Fi network. Worth knowing if you compare against AOSP: AOSP does not split its Wi-Fi resources this way. The Wi-Fi module ships one resources APK, ServiceWifiResources (com.android.wifi.resources), whose overlayable.xml declares a single overlayable named WifiCustomization with policy odm|product|system|vendor, and the P2P and Aware configuration values (config_wifi_p2p_device_type, config_wifiP2pDeviceNamePrefix, config_wifiAwareInstantCommunicationModeDurationMillis and similar) sit inside it alongside everything else. Samsung's builds instead carry additional feature-scoped resources packages of which this is one. Samsung does not publicly document what this package contains, so its exact contents could not be sourced and the description above rests on the naming and on the AOSP equivalents. Version note: the Wi-Fi module is delivered in APEX format and is available for devices running Android 11 or higher, so from Android 11 the Wi-Fi resources travel with that module and are versioned alongside it. The target SDK range recorded here runs from 31 to 37, consistent with a component that has tracked releases from Android 12 onward in our sample. Whether Samsung split these resources out at a particular One UI or Android version could not be sourced. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use this is system Wi-Fi infrastructure rather than optional software, and it has no role in enrolment or policy. Wi-Fi services read their configuration from packages like this one, so it should be left in place rather than disabled or removed. To control what users can do with Wi-Fi Direct, device-to-device sharing or Wi-Fi in general, use your EMM's Wi-Fi and sharing restriction policies.

• Signed by the device maker's own signing key (Samsung), so it is an OEM preinstall, and that single certificate is consistent across all 22 device profiles. Inferred from the certificate appearing only on Samsung devices (81 packages, 1815 observations).
• Never reported as user-facing, so it runs as a background or system component rather than an app the user opens.
