The service behind "Stories" in the Samsung Gallery app, made by Samsung. Stories are short video montages built from photos and videos already in the Gallery, gathered under a Stories tab alongside the usual album views. In our sample it is Samsung-signed by the key that signs the framework on those devices. Version note: Samsung's support material documents more than one route to a story, and the route on offer varies by device. One page describes generating a story from a descriptive text prompt, illustrated on a Galaxy S25 Ultra; a separate page describes building a story yourself from the Stories tab by picking photos, videos, GIFs and collages, and lists Galaxy S24, S25, Z Fold, Z Flip and A series as supported. Which route a given build offers, and the Android or One UI release at which the available routes changed, could not be sourced, so confirm the behaviour on your fleet's build rather than assuming it is the same everywhere. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use it has no enrolment or policy role. It is a discretionary media feature rather than something the device depends on, so on a shared or single-purpose device it is a reasonable candidate to disable through system app management. Expect the Stories surface in Gallery to stop working if you do; Samsung does not document the effect of disabling this package specifically, so test on a representative device before rolling it out.

• Signed by the device maker's own signing key (Samsung), so it is an OEM preinstall, but 2 different certificates appear across the fleet, so OEMs ship their own builds of it. It also signs the Android framework, so it is a platform-level key on its device(s). Inferred from the certificate appearing only on Samsung devices (508 packages, 10196 observations).
• Its largest observed manifest declares 41 permissions: 5 runtime (user-granted), 6 install-time and 30 vendor or uncatalogued.
• APK size ranges from 1.1 MB to 7.0 MB across the reporting device profiles, so the build differs substantially between them.
• Never reported as user-facing, so it runs as a background or system component rather than an app the user opens.
