A Samsung package whose current English label in our sample is "Emergency sharing", with localised equivalents recorded in other locales. Two signing keys have been observed for it, both classified as Samsung OEM keys that also sign framework components. Samsung documents Emergency sharing as sending messages to chosen emergency contacts with the user's current location and low battery warnings, optionally attaching photos and up to five seconds of audio. Its provenance record is consistent with that description: it holds SEND_SMS_NO_CONFIRMATION, background and fine location, camera, microphone and SMS read and write permissions, along with the Korea-specific android.permission.KOR_GO_FIRE_REPORT and android.permission.KOR_GO_POLICE_REPORT, which suggests region-specific emergency reporting paths in some markets. Version note: this package has been renamed more than once, which matters when matching older inventories against current devices. Samsung's Common Criteria mode application list for the Galaxy S21 5G on Android 11 records it as "Send SOS messages" at version 12.1.00.20, our sample has also observed it labelled "Safety assistance", and current devices label it "Emergency sharing". Samsung does not document what changed functionally between those names, so the renaming is recorded here as observed fact rather than explained. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk work this is a consumer safety feature with no role in enrolment or policy enforcement, but it is worth knowing about because it can send messages containing location, images and audio from a corporate device without the messaging app being opened. Samsung does not name the transport; the declared SMS permissions in our provenance record support an inference that SMS is one of the paths available to it, but not that the images and audio travel that way. On a dedicated or kiosk device that capability may be unwanted, while on a corporate device carried by a person it may be exactly what the organisation wants to keep. Samsung documents configuring the feature in Settings under Safety and emergency rather than removing the package, so treat removal with caution, weigh the safety consequence of taking it away, and test on a single device first.

It also signs the Android framework, so it is a platform-level key on its device(s). Inferred from the certificate appearing only on Samsung devices (508 packages, 10196 observations).

• APK size ranges from 4.3 MB to 6.9 MB across the reporting device profiles, so the build differs substantially between them.
• Never reported as user-facing, so it runs as a background or system component rather than an app the user opens.
