Samsung's Common Criteria mode application list for the Galaxy S9+ names this package "Video Editor", and Samsung's UK support page describes the Samsung Video editor as the tool you reach by opening Gallery, selecting a video and tapping the edit icon, offering trimming, rotating and flipping, text, stickers and drawings, filters and background music. That page states the editor is available on S20 models and above. The label has moved on. Devices in this data report the package under both "Video Editor" and "Studio", with "Studio" dominant on recent builds, so on newer One UI releases the same package presents itself to the user under a different name. We could not source a first-party Samsung page stating the version at which the rename happened, whether the editing feature set changed with it, or whether this package also backs the standalone Studio app, so treat the rename as observed on device and the rest as unsourced. The recorded builds span versions 4.5.81.1 to 7.5.00.34, target API 31 up to 36, and installed sizes from roughly 17 MB to over 54 MB. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use this is a user-facing media application with no enrolment or policy role. It is a reasonable candidate for removal on a single-purpose or kiosk build where video editing is not wanted. Two things are worth checking before doing that at fleet scale. The editor is reached from Gallery, so removing it may leave edit entry points in Gallery that no longer work, and we could not source how Gallery behaves on a build where the package is absent. Its recorded permissions also include DELETE_PACKAGES and media processing foreground service permissions, which is a broader surface than the user-visible function suggests and is worth noting in a privacy or security review even if you keep the app.
