Auto doodle
Guidance
A Samsung component labelled "Auto doodle" on device and named "AutoDoodle" in Samsung's own Common Criteria mode application lists for Android 11 era Galaxy models such as the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy S20 FE. It is signed by the Samsung OEM key that also signs the framework, and it declares no permissions at all in the builds recorded here. The feature Samsung documents under this name is AR Doodle, a camera-based drawing tool. Samsung's Note10 support page describes it as reached from the Camera app by tapping Video and then the AR Doodle icon, and states that "the doodles on the face will follow the face as it moves, and the doodles in the space will be fixed in the same place even if the camera moves". A later Samsung Canada page instead describes opening Camera, tapping MORE and then AR DOODLE, with AR Zone as the route on some models, so the navigation has changed across releases and neither page is dated to the One UI versions recorded here. Samsung does not publish package-level documentation, so the link between this package and AR Doodle is drawn from the package name and the device label rather than from anything Samsung states. On the same inference, a component that declares no permissions is more likely to supply assets and logic to a host app than to be the camera feature itself, but that too is inference and not a sourced fact. If that reading is right, then for Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk deployments this is a consumer creative add-on with no role in enrolment, policy, provisioning or connectivity, and a reasonable candidate for removal on a corporate or single-purpose build. Because we could not source which host feature depends on it, disabling it may leave a doodle entry point in the Camera app that fails rather than disappearing, and we cannot rule out other effects we did not find. Test on one device before applying it at fleet scale. Version note: builds recorded here run from 3.4.11.2 to 3.7.07.0 and target API 33 up to 35 across 35 Galaxy models, while Samsung's Android 11 application lists show version 2.9.11.32, so the component has been maintained across releases. AR Doodle is not present on every Galaxy model, and Samsung's support page notes that available screens and settings vary by market and device, so confirm on the hardware in front of you.
Package intelligence
Observed signing, permission, version and size signals from contributing devices - descriptive of that sample, not a verdict. These come from the v2 Package Search sync, which not every device has contributed to yet, so for some packages this detail is partial or not present at all.
- Signed by the device maker's own signing key (Samsung), so it is an OEM preinstall, and that single certificate is consistent across all 13 device profiles. It also signs the Android framework, so it is a platform-level key on its device(s). Inferred from the certificate appearing only on Samsung devices (508 packages, 10196 observations).
- Reported as an updated system app on 1 of 13 profiles - a newer build is installed over the one in the system image there.
Manage on devices
ADB commands for this package (the inverse of each is included so you can undo). Run from an authorised shell or wire the equivalent into your DPC. Verify on a test device first - this database doesn’t yet classify which packages are safe to change. --user 0 targets the current user; drop it (and use a privileged shell) to act device-wide.

Each record is a device profile (make + model + Android version). Each unique handset that syncs against a matching profile will increase the observations of a package, thereby increasing confidence that a package is expected to be on a device.
