Gestural Navigation Bar
Guidance
A Samsung navigation-bar Runtime Resource Overlay (RRO) on Galaxy devices, and the third of the set alongside sec_gestural and gestural_no_hint. Like them it carries the label "Gestural Navigation Bar", holds no launcher icon, declares no permissions and is applied by the overlay manager rather than opened. Its name combines the two elements the other two carry: the "sec" prefix Samsung uses across its own packages, and the "no_hint" suffix that lines up with Samsung's "Gesture hint" setting being off, a setting Samsung describes as the on-screen guidance for where to swipe. That reading makes it Samsung's own gesture variant with the hint omitted. Samsung does not publish which overlay each navigation setting selects, so this is apparent from the naming rather than sourced. It has no AOSP equivalent: the frameworks/base overlay set holds only the 2-button, 3-button and gestural overlays (with back-sensitivity variants in older branches) in both the android13-release and android15-release branches. On this site it is Samsung-signed, by a key the site does not record as signing the framework, with a version name of 1.0 and a target SDK range of 31 to 37. Version note: Samsung states that One UI 6.1 removed both the dedicated "Swipe from bottom" option and "Gesture hint" from Swipe gestures settings, and that they can still be enabled through Good Lock's NavStar app. The overlays remain on builds after that change, so the package being present says nothing about which toggles a given One UI version exposes. The per-version behaviour of this specific overlay could not be sourced. For Android Enterprise, EMM and kiosk use it plays no part in enrolment or policy and exposes no user-facing surface. Navigation mode is chosen through the overlay manager and Settings rather than by enabling or disabling packages, and only one navigation-mode overlay applies at a time. Disabling the one in use can disturb navigation, so leave it alone and use your EMM's lock task or kiosk policies to constrain navigation instead.

Package intelligence
Observed signing, permission, version and size signals from contributing devices - descriptive of that sample, not a verdict. These come from the v2 Package Search sync, which not every device has contributed to yet, so for some packages this detail is partial or not present at all.
- Signed by the device maker's own signing key (Samsung), so it is an OEM preinstall, and that single certificate is consistent across all 22 device profiles. Inferred from the certificate appearing only on Samsung devices (81 packages, 1815 observations).
- Never reported as user-facing, so it runs as a background or system component rather than an app the user opens.
Manage on devices
ADB commands for this package (the inverse of each is included so you can undo). Run from an authorised shell or wire the equivalent into your DPC. Verify on a test device first - this database doesn’t yet classify which packages are safe to change. --user 0 targets the current user; drop it (and use a privileged shell) to act device-wide.
/system, so Restore re-adds it (-k keeps app data)Seen on
Each record is a device profile (make + model + Android version). Each unique handset that syncs against a matching profile will increase the observations of a package, thereby increasing confidence that a package is expected to be on a device.
