This is the Google Clock app (labelled "Clock") made by Google. It is a Google-signed, Play-updatable app that ships preinstalled on many devices licensed for Google Mobile Services, providing alarms, timers, a stopwatch, world clock and bedtime and sleep features. It is a user-facing application with its own Play Store listing, and it updates independently of system updates. Where it is present it is commonly the handler for the system alarm and timer intents (the android.provider.AlarmClock actions), so other apps and voice assistants that ask to "set an alarm" or "start a timer" may route to it. If it is the only alarm and clock app on the device, disabling it removes that functionality until another clock app takes over, so check what else is installed first. For managed fleets, note that Google treats this as a core app: its own Google Workspace guidance for company-owned devices lists com.google.android.deskclock among the critical system apps that an administrator cannot disallow from the admin console, so it cannot be blocked by package name there. On an unmanaged device a user can still disable it, and a full device-owner EMM can hide or suspend apps by other means. Because Google classes it as critical and it backs the alarm and timer functions, treat with caution rather than disabling by default.

• APK size ranges from 7.4 MB to 16.8 MB across the reporting device profiles, so the build differs substantially between them.
• Reported as an updated system app on 44 of 25 profiles - a newer build is installed over the one in the system image there.
